Please join Mayor William Capote and other corporate and community leaders on Saturday, September 24th, at the 2016 Mayor’s Ball honoring EDC President and CEO, Lynda Weatherman. The goal of this year’s event is to raise over $200,000 to benefit the Certified Production Technician (CPT) program at Eastern Florida State College. Students who complete the certification enter the workforce with the skills and education necessary to meet the demands of the rapidly growing tech industry in Brevard County, and potentially fill critical manufacturing jobs.
The production technician certification process focuses on the core technical competencies of the entry-level production worker and is applicable in all sectors of manufacturing. This ten week course prepares the student for the four Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) Production technician certification assessments: Safety; Quality Practices & Measurement; Manufacturing Processes & Production; and Maintenance Awareness. The course provides online learning along with hands on experience.
By purchasing tickets or becoming an event sponsor, you will be supporting an exciting partnership with the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast and the Pastor’s Community Alliance. This initiative ensures that we are meeting the needs of some of our biggest employers while building a skilled manufacturing workforce and ensuring that our citizens are provided the opportunity for training and placement into a career field that is the fabric of our nation.
Please join us in supporting the CPT program by becoming a sponsor of the 2016 Mayor’s Ball.
This event will help to provide important funding for education and job training that will benefit not just the individual student but our entire community.
