Community Development Advisory Board

Function:

Serve as a citizen input mechanism for the community and in an advisory capacity to the City for community development administered programs funded with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership, and State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) grant funds.

 

Membership Requirements:

  • City resident
  • At least 18 years of age
  • To extent possible, persons from the following fields:
    • 1 - actively engaged in the residential home building industry
    • 1 - actively engaged in the banking industry
    • 1 - representative of a social services agency
    • 1 - senior citizen (55+ years of age)
    • 1 - real estate professional
    • 2 - reside in the Northeast District (north of Malabar Road, east of Interstate 95)
    • 1 - essential services personnel (persons employed by an educational, governmental, or health care institution or any building trade as well as financial and hospitality personnel)
    • 1 - actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing
    • 1 - employer within the City
    • 1 - actively engaged as advocate for low-income persons in connection with affordable housing

 

Maximum Number of Members:

Eleven (11)

 

Length of Term:

4 Years

 

Meeting Location:

City Hall Council Chambers, 120 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay

 

Meeting Day/Time:

Quarterly, 6:30 p.m., or as needed
